i was looking the ebay page of belote and found that Cold Steel Purple Heart Tusk Cane Walking Stick The Brazilian jungle is home to a huge variety of exotic and rare woods, but few can rival the beauty and strength of "Purple Heart". The Purple Heart has been air dried for seven years. Named for its rich, purple-red hue, furniture connoisseurs have prized Purple Heart wood mostly for its distinctive color. But Purple Heart has other valuable properties, particularly when it is used as an impact weapon. Purple Heart is extremely dense, fibrous and heavy. This makes it very resistant to breakage when subjected to high impact forces. So it's an ideal material for walking sticks where its natural beauty and strength really shine. The Purple Heart Walkabout can be described in three words, big, bad, and beautiful. i never hear of it. what is that ?

A hardwood cane from a few years ago. I play drums and I can tell you Purple heart is crazy tough as a drumstick it easily lasts 4-5times what a normal Maple or Hickory stick does. Too bad it's expensive!

That looks like one awesome cane. Never heard of it before now either. Makes me wish I used a cane.

There was also a purple heart walk about back then too, if I had know how much trouble my knee was going to be back then I'd have bought one for sure. The wood is about as strong a wood as you can find, if you can and it has gotten pricey to say the least.

Yes it is just probably left over old stock 5+ years at least.

Ill tell you how tough it is. I once installed a double front door made from purple heart. We had to get two sets of 600 hundred dollar a pair bronze door hinges ( the kind that have a grease nipple) to hang it on. Then, the owner wanted a small window installed, and after a blister package full of jig saw blades were broken, i had to finish the job with a reciprocating saw, (Milwaukee) that burned out at the end and had to be replaced. thats how tough it is....
