Health insurance debacle - Tuesday, February 13, 2018 9:29 AM ( #1 )
This post is for everyone in the USA, as health insurance is going to be run differently in other countries, I hope.

Here's a big to-do about what Aetna admitted doing, denying claims without even reviewing medical records or even knowing what the hell the claim is about. https://www.forbes.com/sites/robertglatter/2018/02/11/former-aetna-medical-director-admits-to-never-reviewing-medical-records-before-denying-care/#3bdd2c3c35e5 We should realize, however, that it's not just Aetna doing this b-s. All health insurers, of all kinds, here in the USA will deny or partially deny most claims, without even looking at it. Basically, that's what the insurance business is all about, taking your money and then denying any claims. We hear about insurance fraud all the time, but insurance fraud by individuals is a drop in the bucket compared to what the real fraud is. The real fraud is that the entire insurance industry is just a giant Ponzi scheme that makes Bernard Madoff's work look like a protozoa. Let's face it, the insurance industry is there only to fatten their own pockets, and live off people like the parasites they are.

I've seen my med price increase for no reason and now have to fight to continue with one they approved all last year. Don't get me started on the "business of medicine" and insurance companies.

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.
