coldsteelforums browser error message - Friday, August 04, 2017 12:27 PM ( #1 )
Anyone else have trouble recently opening up coldsteelforums.com? I might have been just me. A few days ago, I started getting an error message on my browser: server error in "l" application or something like that. Whatever the heck that means. It was only this website that I couldn't pull up. Tried researching on the net and did everything they suggested, but nothing worked. Then was about to post on bladeforums about it and tried one last time to pull up the site and bingo this time it finally worked! Was worried that if they closed down the site and all that great info on it was gone forever. I do search stuff on here now and then and it's a great resource, a Cold Steel library.

Same thing here. This has been going on for the past few days. I was waiting for somebody to mention it at Blade Forums but nobody did so. I guess Blade Fotums will be the meeting place during the next storm.

Wow, I thought it was just me. Well, I have some of my favorite threads on here saved to my hard drive. I recommend everyone else do that too, just in case the whole site goes poof one day. Some great info in the archives here, not available anywhere else.

Has happened a few times over the past couple years...think people have gotten used to it and don't bother mentioning it anymore.

Started doing it to me last Sunday. I called CS Monday morning again on Tue. LOL
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Yes, it has happened several times over the life of the Forums, so I was not too worried.

I have windows 7 on my laptop. It's easy, just right click on mouse, do "save as" and it downloads the webpage to your hard drive. Of course, if there is more than one page to the thread, you have to save each page separately. But the webpage does open up, looking exactly the same, by using the same browser program, even when you're offline. So if the whole site disappeared, you still have that webpage on your computer.

Whew! Just found the website up and running right now. Was unable to access once again for almost a week, was getting the same error message, "server error in / application". Hopefully they got the gremlins out this time.
