did anyone catch the mall shooting survival thing on Spike? There was nothing else on and I was using the TV as background noise for the most part but I did catch the guy say that in a mall shooting, you should stuff a tampon into a bullet wound if you are shot and you have one. I suppose if I had no other way to slow the bleeding, whatever I had is better than nothing but I am still uncertain this is a good idea. I guess the medical folks can deal with it afterward as long as you are alive for you to have it dealt with in the first place.

The ol lady is a nurse I bought her a $300.00 first out bag. It had a ton of stuff in it. She loaded it with even more stuff. It's a big as a medium. Alice pack. As for me I think I have a hello kitty bandaid I got out of my daughters medicine cabinet and a wet nap from KFC.

As I stated before I do not know where that tampon bullet wound thing got started. Tampons can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome as well as leaving fibers in the wound. An heavy compress bandage with direct pressure needs to be applied. As for the tampons save them for packing a broken nose until you can get them to a ER.

I recommend checking into a EMT-B class. Check with Hospitals first they are the best ones. An Community College would be the second choice because, most of a CC class is mostly books and hardly any hands on field work.
