Machete/ebay seller question...

I have the 2HKM I purchased from amazon.com that was recieved sharp and flawless.I just recieved the 2HPM from UNITEDOUTDOORS,(EBAY) and the fit and finish was HORRIBLE,rough handle and scuffed,it came in DULL,and the "curve"of the blade(Sweetspot?) is dulled beyond the repair of my acusharp and will need some professional repair.(However the rest sharpened up nicely).I also noticed the 2HKM has rivets that are recessed,and my 2HPM has rivets that are not recessed.Just curious if I may have got a factory 2nd?Anyone know of this seller?And are the rivets supposed to be recessed?Thanks in advance my cold steel peeps!!!!

Hit the edge with a garden file. Shouldn't take more than about 15 minutes to get a nice working edge on it. I also recommend the 1x30 belt sander from Harbor Freight and some sharpening belts from Lee Valley (they're in their sharpening section--not sanding!) I usually do rough profiling work with a 40grit belt, then 80, 200, then 20 micron.

AFAIK, unitedoutdoors sells real CS.  I've bought a couple CS knives from them and they seem legit.  I used to have an original 2 handed CS machete and the finish was fairly rough.  I don't recall for sure, but I don't think the rivets were recessed.
